Amit Shah's assets jumped due to inheritance: BJP

Reacting to media reports about the increase in the value of Amit Shah's assets, the BJP on Monday clarified that the rise was overwhelmingly because of the inheritance from his late mother.

In a press release, the party said that in the affidavit he filed in 2012, Shah and his wife Sonal had declared assets worth Rs 10.99 crore.

After the death of his mother Kusumben in 2013, the court probated her assets worth Rs 18.85 to Shah, taking the value of his assets to 29.84 crore. This has since gone up to Rs 34.31 crore largely because of appreciation of his assets.
